Tournament Format

A maximum of 4 days may be reported to accrue tournament points. Boats must report fishing days by 8:00am on the day they are fishing. Fishing hours will remain the same from 8:00am to 3:00pm and will be on the honor system. Captains will be responsible for keeping track of their own release times. Affidavits signed by each member of the crew present on the said fishing day must be turned in to the tournament/dock office at the City Marina by 7:30pm on the day fished for it to count as a valid fishing day.

Scoring

Blue Marlin = 600 points per release
White Marlin = 300 points per release
Sailfish = 200 points per release

Extra points will be given for tagged Billfish. One additional point will be given for each tagged billfish. Contact Amy Dukes with the Department of Natural Resources for tags and/or tagging sticks. 843-953-9365 or dukesa@dnr.sc.gov.

Tournament Entry (required): $700

Includes One (1) parking pass to the City Marina Complex and six (6) tickets to the Awards Ceremony and Halloween Dinner Party. Kids 12 and under are free and there will be prizes for the best costume.

Payout (Prize money based on an entry of 50 boats)

Highest number of Sailfish releases: $10,000
Highest number of release points overall: $7,500
Heaviest Wahoo: $2,500

Optional Entry Levels

(90% of all entries paid out) If you decide not to enter the optional categories, you are still fishing for the tournament prize money.

Rod Level: $500
Reel Level: $750 (must be registered in rod level)
Sailfish Level: $1250 (must be registered in rod and reel levels)

Each of the three levels will be shared as follows:

Top Sailfish Releases: 40%
2nd Place Sailfish Releases: 15%
Top Release Points: 35%
2nd Place Release Points: 10%

Weighed Blue Marlin JackPot - $2,000

Winner Take All. The minimum size for a blue marlin to be eligible is 105 inches measured in a curved line along the body from the fork of the tail to the tip of the lower jaw (see full rules). In the event that no qualifying Blue Marlin is taken among those participating, the Calcutta money will be refunded less 10%.

Wahoo Calcutta - $500

Heaviest Wahoo: 75%
2nd Heaviest Wahoo: 25%
